Terms & Conditions

AGE REQUIREMENTS

Minimum 21 years, no maximum.

DRIVING LICENCE

Driving licence, at least one year old is required.

MINIMUM RENTAL PERIOD

Minimum rental period is 24 hours (1 day).

DEPOSIT INFORMATION

Embossed Credit Card imprint will be taken at start of rental, Cards (embossed) accepted are Budget Credit Card, Amex, Diners, Eurocard/Mastercard, Visa. Cash not accepted.

ONE-WAY RENTALS

International one-way rentals are available. Check at time of reservation. National one-way rentals are available, free of charge.

OUT OF OPENING HOURS

Transactions before or after opening hours 10 USD + 25% VAT/hours.

ADDITIONAL DRIVERS

Must meet the same requirements as primary driver. Additional driver's fee USD 5 + 25% VAT/day.

RESERVATIONS

Reservations are to be made to the local Budget office using the available contacts.

CROSSBORDER RENTALS

Renters wishing to drive the car out of Hungary, must obtain the advance authorisation of Budget Hungary. The visit of some countries (Albania, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Greece, Yugoslavia, Herzegovina, and the former Soviet Union) or regions may be temporarily prohibited due to excessive travel risks.

INSURANCES (CDW, TP, PAI)

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW)

The renter will not be liable to pay for the whole damage, but only for a determined self participation, if the renter accepts to pay a daily fee of CDW. Regardless, whether CDW has been bought or not, renter is liable for the full cost of the repair damages, caused by any gross violation of the Hungarian Traffic Law.
Excluded further from CDW are: damages on the underside of the car, on the wheels, tyres, the interior of the car, and technical damages due to incorrect manipulation.
The personal belongings left in the car are not covered by any above insurances.

Theft Protection (TP)

If renters buys the Theft Protection and the rented car will be stolen, in case renter has the key and the papers of the car, renter is liable to pay only a certain self participation.

Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)

PAI can be purchased according to tariff, covering all the allowed number of passengers in the car. PAI costs USD 3 / day, and concerns only for foreigners.

TAXES

25%, to whom Hungarian Tax Law concerns.

TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS

At the renter's responsibility and expenses.
